Discernment

In this day and age, many things are not what they appear to be. With the rapid growth and changes in technology and social media, there comes deception and seduction on a greater scale. We have to question the legitimacy of what we are seeing and hearing and identify the source. Is this of God or is it from the enemy? We must be on guard and discern those things that try to tempt our flesh.

Satan even tried to tempt Jesus when He was fasting for 40 days in the wilderness. Satan attempted to catch Jesus at a weak point but Jesus was filled with the Holy Spirit and refuted his lies with the Word of God.  God has also given us His Holy Spirit to guide and lead us into all truth.

God is faithful to pour out His wisdom when we ask. He gives us discernment for our protection. Proverbs 2: 10-13 says, “When wisdom enters your heart, and knowledge is pleasant to your soul, discretion will preserve you; understanding will keep you, to deliver you from the way of evil,  from the man who speaks perverse things, from those who leave the paths of uprightness to walk in the ways of darkness”

Prayer

Heavenly Father, I thank You for Your Wisdom that is a lamp unto my feet and a light to my path. Holy Spirit, Your Wisdom guards me on every side and I discern who is around me. I am not influenced by the deceitfulness of the enemy. I have the Wisdom to follow only Jesus and His ways.

Trust in the Lord

sunrise, road, path, faith
Life decisions can sometimes get hairy. One wrong decision can send us on a trajectory that is so far off of the path of God’s perfect plan for our lives. We find ourselves in a whirlwind of confusion, doubt and fear. It can seem almost impossible to get back to where we need to be. We wonder if we have totally missed the opportunity for God’s perfect will to be done in our lives.

Proverbs 3:5-6 says, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths.” When we repent of making decisions without God’s wise counsel, He is faithful to forgive us and start the process of getting us back to His perfect will. Jesus is our Redeemer. He has not only redeemed our souls but He will also redeem the lost time due to our impulsive decisions. We just need to repent and surrender our carnal plans and yearn for His divine plans. We have to want Him more than anything else. If we are double minded, we will remain in confusion, doubt and fear.

Prayer

Heavenly Father, forgive me for any impulsive decisions I’ve made that didn’t include Your wise counsel. Lead me on the path of Your perfect plan for my life. Fill me with discernment to recognize Your signs. Thank You Jesus for redeeming any lost time because of my decisions. Your mercies are new every morning.
